As usual I'll be growing Sweet Corn this year. I also want to grow Butternut Squash. As I'm haven't a lot of space, do you think I could grow the Squash beneath the Sweet corn?

Yes just like the three sisters planting method. Google it if you like. Would you like me to post you a couple of Crown Prince seeds. They ripen much better and taste similar if not slightly better. I thought I had already talked you into this.

Cherry I'd be ever so grateful just for a couple. I visited two large GC's and couldn't find them, so I bought Unwins Hunter F1's. While there I also bought Unwins Sweet corn (Lark) I wanted Lettuce (Susan) but no luck either, I got Lettuce Hilde 11 as they recon they have a long cropping period.

Thank you for the seeds Cherry, they've just arrived. Blimey I didn't realise that they needed so much space, It says plant 4' apart gosh I'll only have room for two. also to restrict fruits to 3-4 to obtain 9lb fruit. Maybe I should allow more as a 9pounder would be too much for us.

Only five seeds come in that packet. Two would certainly be enough and when they are established, don't water them much or they will be too big. They take up no more room than butternut. Piskie put a photo on here somewhere of hers today. When you use it, get Pen to make that Butternut Soup I put on the recipe pages. It freezes very well. Do have a go.
